Peacock Finish-silk ribbon embroidery

Hi all and a warm welcome to even more newcomers :) its lovely to see all the different blogs and interests, hope you all enjoyed blog hopping as much as I did :)

Well, onto the peacock and he's done! it was a very enjoyable if some what frustrating experience, not the silk ribbon embroidery but the fact I ran out of the green silk just at the end for the leaves!!
Ohhhh NO not after all that hard work! so I had to improvise :))
I had a bit of blue silk ribbon left over so I made a smaller blue flower to put over the 4 leaves that would have been unfinished!

apart from running out of ribbon at the end I found it a wonderful experience and will be pursuing this art as one of my many crafts, my list grows longer every year!!
LOL
next on the list to do is take this to my framer for framing and buy some silk ribbons ready for my next Silk Ribbon Adventure :))
Thank you for reading
and
Happy Stitching:)

  5. Hi Dearest Summer , back again , :))) and just in time to see your magnificent peacock amidst its garland of gorgeous foliaged roses in its final state , ooohhhhh dear Summer , what can one say but '' magnifico assoluta '', without question one of the most beautiful pieces of visual art in its cast of silk ribbon embroidery that you have transpired from mind heart and soul , to the physicality of what comes racing at at the speed of light to pounce upon one's eyes in a sheer explosion of vibrant colour and form. One has to step back a little to take in the crescendo of colour , and to slowly scan ones eye across the multitude of beauteous substructures, AND there substructures that when brought together in this marriage of magnificent Artistical crescendo leaves the admirer without doubt absolutely breathless in its beauty .One chatters I know , and whilst one is also familiar with your many beautiful , beautiful needle work creations of which many favor my eye , some taking literally multiples of years for you to complete , one has to say that this work of embroidery is up there with the best ..I so so love this piece dear Summer it sings to me of all things Summer , that is in reference to the division of year , and to yourself dear lady ..and is truly a welcomed site as one lays upon ones bed , to the sound of howling winds and site of halfcrown snowflakes dancing to the swaying winds waltz'ed moves hahahaha its a hot brew and onesie night for sure :))) hahahaha , but I digress from my wandering tangent ..for myself dear Summer this wonderful piece so speaks to me , Ive always had a love of home grown , Oriental and African art , and you have in this wonderful creation so struck a cord within my likings , :)))))) one looks forward to seeing this wonderful , wonderful , work of art in a box frame , its a frame with raised sides where upon the glass is raised that the birds plumes and the gorgeous roses may breath and not be crushed under pressing glass ,almost akin to a minor show case as it were ..One so hopes your framer can sort you with such a frame , it would be a shame to crush your beautiful blooms and birded plumes ,Dearest Summer one looks forward to future ventures down this road again with you , for one who has NEVER engaged , in this art before , your creation sings of your soul , wonderful , just so wonderful , I thank YOU , for sharing that which is the beauty of Summer , As always dear Summer my respects , Ban :))))))))) LOVE IT !!!!!!!! hahahaha :)))))))

  6. Your peacock is amazing!! How gorgeous does he look strutting around in all that glory! Running out of a certain colour ribbon near the end is always a pain, but as you have done, it always seems to work out...even better than what you originally planned. This is a spectacular finish Summer!!
